Recently we attended Guardian’s Annual Pharmacy Managers Meeting in Fort Worth, TX. All 37 Guardian Pharmacies from around the country joined together to celebrate our success in 2018, while also planning our road map to success for 2019.
We at Guardian Pharmacy of Indiana looked forward to a big Texas welcome from fellow Guardian Pharmacy management teams and warmer weather. Well, one out of two came true. The camaraderie was great, but Fort Worth welcomed us with rain, wind and temperature in the lower 40s… for a high! Upon arrival Thursday afternoon, we boarded a bus to attend a cattle drive, then gathered for dinner to hear Fred Burke’s, President & CEO, talk about our 2018 successes. The evening concluded with live music, caricature drawings and the most popular of all – armadillo races.
Friday and Saturday the schedule was packed full of speakers and a chance to learn about current LTC industry trends and share “best practices” from all the Guardian Pharmacies. Topics included updates to the “Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition” by guest speaker, Chris Mahen, COO of Legends; “Update on the Opioid Crisis-effects on LTC”; and “Guardian Angels Program”; “Top priorities for Operational Success”; “Above and Beyond- LTC is Personal”; and “Individual Guardian Success Stories.”
And, of course, the meeting would not be complete without our annual evening celebration gala to recognize our successes.
In today’s divided world, it’s refreshing to gather together, see your fellow associates, share success stories, celebrate, rekindle friendships and make new ones as we all share the same goal:
